Dr Nissan, Doctor of Optometry (OD), is board-certified both in Canada (OEBC) and USA (NBEO). She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in Chicago in 2016 and completed her clinical training at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago and the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Detroit, gaining valuable experience in a variety of clinical settings.
Her role includes interdisciplinary collaboration with specialists in ophthalmology, endocrinology, rheumatology, and other medical fields, ensuring an integrated approach to care, particularly when systemic health influences ocular health. Her approach is based on patient-centered, evidence-based care, with a priority placed on collaboration with ophthalmologists.
She is also actively involved in clinical research, collaborating with academic institutions and industry partners to advance optometric practice and improve long-term vision health outcomes.
